This week, Presidential Press secretary Jen Psaki argued for the elimination of the Senate Filibuster, calling it a “tool of racists. Throughout American history the Senate filibuster has been repeatedly used to block legislation that would safeguard the rights of minorities. As the President pointed out in his press conference on Thursday, the filibuster was the first line of defense in protecting Jim Crow laws that denied equality for blacks.”
