Mandatory Vaccination for Migrants Cancelled

By: John Semmens

After a brief show of treating illegal immigrants the same as Americans, the Biden Administration has abandoned its policy of mandatory covid vaccinations. “We tried telling them that they wouldn’t be able to go anywhere in the United States without proof of vaccination, but the vast majority still refused to be injected,” said a Border Patrol official. “The practical thing is we have no leverage over them. We can’t threaten their jobs because they have no jobs. We can’t threaten to send them back because the President doesn’t want them sent back. All we can do is put them on buses or planes and send them somewhere else.”

Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas hastened to clarify that “it isn’t just the practical difficulties that led to our course correction. There are also equity considerations. These people aren’t American citizens. Who are we to boss them around and deny them free choices? One of the reasons they entered this country is to be free. The applicability of mandates like the one President Biden issued for all employers with more than 100 workers is questionable. Coercing citizens is a recognized authority of the President. Coercing foreigners is not. To be on the safe side and avoid being liable for damages it is best to just let them go where they want and do whatever they want.”

In related news, Mayorkas insisted that “the newly created Disinformation Governance Board will not infringe legitimate freedom of speech. There are clear boundaries between disinformation and genuine freedom of speech. Disinformation is speech that intends and attempts to discredit or oppose government policies and actions. Speech that intends or attempts to support government policies and actions is not disinformation and will not draw any punitive response from the Board against any person engaging in the activity.”

GOV. DUCEY DECLARES EMERGENCY, SENDS NATIONAL GUARD TO BORDER

PHOENIX — Governor Doug Ducey issues a Declaration of Emergency and announced he is deploying the Arizona National Guard to the state’s southern border to support local law enforcement efforts as the nation experiences a rapid increase in apprehensions and migrant children in federal custody.

The State will provide up to $25 million in initial funding for the mission.

“The situation in our border communities is just as bad—if not worse—than the coverage we’ve been seeing,” the Governor stated. “It’s become evidently clear that Arizona needs the National Guard, and the White House is aware of that. Yet, to this day, there has been no action from this administration, and it doesn’t look like they are going to act any time soon. If this administration isn’t going to do anything, then we will.” Under the leadership of the newly appointed Adjutant General and Director of the Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs Brigadier General Kerry L. Muehlenbeck, up to 250 Guardsmen will go to border communities and will be available to support other law enforcement agencies, like state troopers.

The Arizona National Guard will: Assist with medical operations in detention centers;Install and maintaining border cameras;Monitor and collect data from public safety cameras; andAnalyze satellite imagery for current trends in smuggling corridors. “The dedicated members of the Arizona National Guard stand ready to support our local law enforcement partners as they address border security, just like we have done for many years when called upon,” said Brigadier General Kerry L. Muehlenbeck.

“Our guard members will tackle a wide range of tasks including medical operations, camera maintenance and monitoring, data analysis, and logistics and administrative support to local sheriffs. I am proud of the men and women of the Arizona National Guard for their commitment to serving and protecting our state, all while they balance federal requirements and full-time civilian commitments. I am grateful for all they do to keep Arizonans safe and for the many employers who continue to support them.”

U.S. Customs & Border Protection in March had more than 170,000 apprehensions at the Southwest border. Nearly 19,000 of those apprehensions were unaccompanied children — more than four times the number of kids apprehended in March 2020.

“The crisis at the border is serious and cannot be taken lightly,” said Yuma County Sheriff Leon Wilmot. “The Arizona National Guard will provide much-needed support to our officers and safety officials, and will help ensure Yuma and other border communities are further protected from dangerous and illegal activity. By deploying National Guard assets, the Governor will allow me to deploy more first responders to mission critical tasks where we will work side by side with our federal partners to target, apprehend and prosecute transnational criminal organizations. My thanks to the Governor for taking action to protect Arizonans, law enforcement and legal immigration.”

Governor Ducey will visit Yuma County tomorrow, April 21, to get more details from community leaders and law enforcement officials about what they’re seeing on the ground.

“The federal government’s actions have made the border less secure. This threatens the safety of our communities and law enforcement,” said Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels. “Border towns and officers need support as the crisis at the border escalates. I’m grateful to Governor Ducey for taking action and sending the National Guard to help. We welcome immigrants with open arms — but it needs to be done legally and orderly to ensure we are protecting our communities, state, and nation.”

Last month, the Governor traveled to Douglas, Arizona to meet with Sheriff Dannels and other safety officials and get a first-hand view of the security and humanitarian situation at the U.S.-Mexico border. After taking an aerial border tour, the Governor received a briefing and held a press conference and a border security roundtable.

“The issues at the border affect the whole state, to include Maricopa County,” said Maricopa County Sheriff Paul Penzone. “The availability of Arizona National Guard resources in support of law enforcement demands is an asset for our depleted resources. I appreciate Governor Ducey’s commitment to law enforcement organizations.”

“The security of Arizona and our residents is our first priority,” said Senate President Karen Fann. “Illegal crossings put our border towns, safety personnel and all Arizonans at risk, but also the immigrants who are facing unsafe conditions as they cross into the state. My thanks to Governor Ducey for taking this initiative to safeguard our state and protect our communities.”

“We need to uphold the law when it comes to immigration,” said House Speaker Rusty Bowers. “The National Guard will help support law enforcement and security officials working hard at the border, and it helps combat the Democrats’ misguided message that crossing the border illegally is acceptable. I strongly support this action by Governor Ducey, as it’s the right decision, and I appreciate his quick response to this crisis.”

Gov. Ducey Makes A Run For The Border

Governor Doug Ducey on Friday traveled to Douglas to get a first-hand view of the security and humanitarian situation at the U.S.-Mexico border. After taking an aerial border tour, the governor received a briefing and held a press conference and a border security roundtable.

He was accompanied by U.S. Senator Rick Scott of Florida, a member of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee; state lawmakers; and community leaders from Cochise County.

“This isn’t just a border security problem — it’s a humanitarian problem,” Governor Ducey said. “Here in Arizona, we’re doing our part to keep our border safe and secure.”

“But we need more leadership from the federal government to keep our borders safe,” he added. “The Biden administration’s immigration policy decisions directly impact our state, and we’re left to pick up the pieces. Our number one priority is keeping Arizonans safe, and we want to keep these migrants safe too.”

The Governor participated in an aerial tour of the border and received a briefing from federal and state officials on border security and the influx of migrants crossing into the state. After the tour, Governor Ducey and Senator Scott held a press conference at the border wall. The Governor then held a border security roundtable with Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels, Arizona Department of Public Safety Director Col. Heston Silbert and other officials.

This week, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced our nation is on pace to reach the highest number of apprehensions at the border in the last 20 years. In addition, U.S. Customs and Border Protection currently has the highest number of migrant children in custody in the history of the agency.

The Governor met this week with Federal Border Officials to discuss the escalating crisis on the border where he raised concern over the dramatic increase in illegal immigration in recent weeks, as well as the strain it’s putting on law enforcement and Arizona’s border communities. Border Patrol also shared concerns about increases in apprehensions and illegal immigration across the board.

As the crisis pursues, the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) continues to deter and dismantle illegal activity to keep Arizona safe thanks to the Arizona Border Strike Force, a highly-trained group of state troopers. The Border Strike Force has been helping to disrupt and dismantle transnational organized crime along the border and in Arizona communities, enhancing DPS efforts to protect Arizonans. Additionally, Governor Ducey on February 17 wrote a letter to Secretary Mayorkas outlining concerns he has for the situation at the border.

Stunning Border Video Shows a Massive Line of Illegal Aliens Waiting to Be Ferried To the U.S.

By Brittany Hughes, MRC TV

A new video shot at the Southwest U.S. border shows hundreds of people wanting in line to be ferried across the U.S. border as the migration crisis ramps up, overwhelming agents and maxing out detention facilities.

The video, reportedly shot in Southeast Texas by Breitbart Texas’ Border and Cartel Chronicles Team as part of their “Tripwires and Triggers” project, shows the massive crowd of people standing in a queue on the Mexican side of a riverbank, waiting for their turn to cross into the U.S. Moments later, the video shows a small inflatable raft crammed full of primarily women and children being ferried to the other side by a masked man with a pole. The group is then dropped off on the reedy bank and left to scramble up the sandy side of the river on their own as the man with the mask attempts to hold it steady.

While a few women are wearing small backpacks, many aren’t carrying anything at all except for small children, and few are wearing masks.

Perhaps most disturbingly, the group appears completely undeterred by the people filming them openly crossing into a country illegally in broad daylight. A voice, presumably that of a border agent, can be heard welcoming the group and directing them which way to head to be taken in for processing.

The masked man, unhindered, then heads back across the river for the next group.

The video shows just one tiny slice of what’s become a massive immigration crisis at the Southwest U.S. border, as record numbers of illegal aliens, including unaccompanied children, have begun crossing in droves following President Joe Biden’s inauguration. The surge has overwhelmed border facilities, which have been instructed by the administration to reopen at pre-COVID capacity levels to accommodate the influx. Temporarily facilities to deal with the wave of unaccompanied minors have ben reopened in Texas with plans for more to reopen in the coming months, even as illegal aliens are being processed and released into the country by the thousands to avoid overflowing the holding cells.

Sen. Ted Cruz: Porkulus bill rebates will go to illegals

By Nicholas Ballasy, Just The News

U.S. Senate Democrats rejected an amendment to the $1.9 trillion stimulus bill that Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz says now paves the way for illegal immigrants to receive $1,400 stimulus rebates.

“There are 12mm or more illegal immigrants,” Cruz tweeted on Sunday. “60% of them are from visa overstays. Many (if not most) of them have social security numbers. Under the bill’s language, MILLIONS OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS will get the $1400 checks.”

According to the text of the Cruz amendment, “any alien who is not lawfully present” would be ineligible for direct stimulus payments or checks.

Democrats voted against the amendment on Saturday 50-49. The final bill, the American Rescue Plan, passed later in the day.

Under previous coronavirus stimulus bills, some non-citizens residing in the U.S. illegally had received stimulus payments because they had filed tax returns using Social Security numbers. In November, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) admitted foreign nationals were receiving stimulus payments while residing overseas.

Cruz criticized Illinois Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin for claiming “illegal immigrants don’t have social security numbers.”

Cruz said Durbin was “deliberately saying something false, knowing it would be repeated.”

Republican Louisiana Sen. Bill Cassidy proposed an amendment to prevent inmates from receiving stimulus rebates, but Democrats voted against it.

“EVERY Dem voted to send criminals the $$,” Cruz tweeted.

Arizona and Montana Take Legal Action Against Biden Admin ICE Arrest Regulations

BY SAMUEL ALLEGRI The Epoch Times

Arizona and Montana are taking legal action to block new Biden administration immigration regulations, saying that these would cause negative consequences for the states.

The new rules would limit the capability of ICE to detain some illegal immigrants unless they pose a threat to national security, entered through the border after Nov. 1, or committed aggravated felonies.

The Biden administration says that the rules don’t impair arresting or deporting people, but the officers in the field would need to request permission from their superiors to arrest people outside of the aforementioned cases.

“If asked about the poorest policy choice I’ve ever seen in government, this would be a strong contender,” Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich said in a statement. “Blindly releasing thousands of people, including convicted criminals and those who may be spreading COVID-19 into our state, is both unconscionable and a violation of federal law. This must be stopped now to avoid a dangerous humanitarian crisis for the immigrants and the people of Arizona.”

Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen joined Brnovich in the lawsuit. Both filed for a preliminary injunction aiming to block the regulations from going into effect.

“Meth trafficked into Montana by Mexican drug cartels has wracked our state. The problem will only be made worse if the Biden administration continues to allow criminals to stay in the country,” Knudsen stated. “Enforcing our immigration laws and helping to keep Americans safe is one of the federal government’s most important functions. The Biden administration is failing its basic responsibility to Americans.”

Last month, Chief Deputy Matthew Thomas told Townhall that the crisis at the border had begun to re-emerge at around the end of 2020 because the human and drug trafficking cartels expected President Joe Biden to have a “hands-off” attitude with regard to the border situation.

“When [Trump] took office, we saw that this area out here went completely dead. Nobody was moving, nobody was smuggling because [the cartels] knew that Trump was going to put all hands on deck out down here and that they would be intercepted so it came to a screeching halt,” Thomas said.

“It was a very slow trickle to get back to some kind of normal but it never got back to where it was,” Thomas added.

Thomas said that since Biden has ordered to halt the construction of the southern border wall, it has created more trouble for Pinal County since it doesn’t have physical barriers, promoting the criminals to funnel through, reaching the highway and then transporting drugs or bodies throughout the country.

He added that once the people or drugs are smuggled in, they can go anywhere inside the United States, sometimes as far as Canada.

“For us, effectively, I-8 … becomes the new border and even the cartels will tell you that’s their goal line because once they get there, they’re shooting west or they’re shooting east and then they’re on a main interstate right into downtown Phoenix … we become the kickoff point for that,” the Sheriff said.

“These people and these drugs are not coming here to Pinal County to stay. This is a transport location. This is a spot they get through to get to their final destination and they’re being sent all over the country.”

Arizona Sheriff Says Biden Building Smuggler’s Highway For Drug Cartels

By Theodore Bunker, Newsmax

A sheriff from the border region of Arizona says that President Joe Biden’s immigration policies have essentially ”built roads for the cartels,” according to The Washington Times.

“We just built roads for the cartels,” Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels told the Times.

He went on to say that Biden’s order halting work on the border wall has created gaps in security, which Dannels said allows for smugglers to bring people into the country.

”One area that’s wide open right now, we’re getting five to six groups a day,” he said. ”It’s almost worse than it was before. We just built them infrastructure.”

Dannels added that most residents in his county have given him positive feedback about the wall, ”with the majority saying it works — it really works.”

Texas Democrat Rep. Henry Cuellar told Fox News on Tuesday that “the numbers have been increasing, the number of unaccompanied kids, the number of families that are coming in are just increasing every day. In my district, just a couple of days ago, 166 people [crossed the]  border. … So it’s not a crisis yet, but it’s going to get there very soon.”
