Vulgar Left Spins its Wheels over Colorado Tragedy

As sure as the sun rises in the East and sets in the West, you can count on the far Left to lie, spin and spread false narratives about news and issues. The tragic murder of three people in Colorado Springs recently is another case in point.

Rob Boston, a blogger for Americans United for Separation of Church and State, spun these ridiculous claims:

In the wake of Friday’s horrific shootings at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs, we’re hearing calls to deescalate the rhetoric around the issue of abortion.

The implication is that both sides are reaching for rhetorical excess. The problem with this claim is that it’s demonstrably untrue.

Pro-choice advocates have argued calmly in favor of reproductive choice for years.  They’ve marshalled facts and figures. They have pointed out that Planned Parenthood provides an array of services to men and women, many of whom are low income. They’ve challenged anti-choice activists to explain how these services would be provided if Planned Parenthood were defunded.

The response from many in the anti-choice community has been nowhere near as reasoned. They have ignored the facts, repeatedly employed the most lurid rhetoric imaginable and lobbed charges that don’t stand up to scrutiny. On the fringe of the movement rest people who advocate and employ violence.

These assertions are laughable and completely false to those of us who have been paying attention to the civility/incivility of the debate. It is disingenuous for the people who claim they have the right to kill the most defenseless among us to act as if they are the more caring crowd and to feign shock and surprise when man exhibits his inhumanity to man. How do people on the Left sleep at night knowing they’ve spent the last day lying and they’re going to spend the following day lying again?

The Colorado murderer, who appeared to be mentally unstable in his court appearance, believes he possesses the moral right to take innocent people’s lives. This is the same belief that abortionists and other leftists demand. His actions followed his beliefs, and his actions are diametrically opposed to and, 180 degrees apart from the views and actions of people who do not believe others should have the legal choice to take a person’s life. Whether it is a pre-born child or an elderly or depressed person.

Every human being’s life is precious. Those of us on the Right condemn murderous acts in all contexts — including abortion and euthanasia. Police authorities in Colorado said they do not yet know the shooter’s motives. For anyone to declare knowledge of motive now is irresponsible and dishonest.

If abortion activists really believe that toxic rhetoric incites violence, they should cease their own toxic rhetoric and end the false accusations against pro-life people. We will show you some of their hateful, vile, vulgar, disgusting remarks below, in a moment.

The pro-life movement champions life for all.  The Left has given America a culture of death which does not value human life. The Colorado shooter’s criminal acts contradict the actions and philosophy of a peaceful movement of millions of pro-life Americans.

Public policy regarding the protection of human life must be discussed with conviction and civility. Boston and his fellow leftists should not politicize and exploit a tragedy that has torn apart the lives of the victims’ families. AU and others should not attempt to capitalize on the murderous acts of one deranged person for political gain. This is a time to come alongside the families of those who tragically lost their lives. This is also yet another time to consider how our nation can stop mentally unstable people from going on killing rampages.

Planned Parenthood is not an innocent victim. The killer’s horrendous acts do not exonerate an organization under multiple state and federal investigations with a years-long, nationwide pattern of waste, abuse, and potentially fraudulent behavior.

This is also a time to recognize true heroism, the true grit of Officer Garrett Swasey, killed that day. He risked his life to save others. That’s courage, when one lays down his life for his fellow man.

Okay, now let’s get to the “reasoned” pro-choice Left, as Boston alleges:

On Monday, the Supreme Court ruled in a 5-4 decision that companies with religious objections may opt out of covering contraceptives for women, the Associated Press reported. The news did not sit well with pro-abortion liberals who decried the ruling. Some, Twitchy said, were so angry they called for burning down Hobby Lobby in violent, profane tweets.

“[L]iterally burn hobby lobby (sic) to the ground,” one pro-abortion liberal screamed on Twitter.

“I hope all your stores burn to the ground,” another person said.

“#HobbyLobby are scum of the earth. Burn every single one down, build a homeless shelter there instead,” a third person said.

“Is Hobby Lobby now authorized to sterilize these women? What the hell are they talking about?” one person asked. The answer, of course, is no, Hobby Lobby is not allowed to sterilize women, but “closely held” corporations like Hobby Lobby are not required to pay for contraception if they have deeply-held religious views against it. According to the AP, the ruling only applies to those companies controlled by just a few people where there is basically no difference between the company and its owners.

And this over-the-top anger didn’t start with the Hobby Lobby decision. No, it has been prevalent for a long, long time.

Read this from the Democrat Underground — if you can stomach it:

The f—– up part is that these f—— “pro-life” f—- claim the moral high ground, saying they are part of the “culture of life”. Well I don’t see a cultures of life, I see a culture of suffering and death. These people aren’t even fit to lick week old dog s— off of my f—— boots.

The Left has a major problem with anger, incivility and vulgarity. The people who value each and every individual human life are the adults in the room. The bitter, angry Left keeps spinning … and spinning its wheels.

Peace on earth and good will toward men.

Rep. Schweikert: Second Amendment Under Attack with Oregon Shootings

Snapshot 1 (10-14-2015 12-00 PM)The Second Amendment is under attack again from the Oregon community college shootings because “there’s a visceral reaction when there’s a tragedy to talk about firearms,” Rep. David Schweikert told Newsmax TV on Tuesday.

“But the reality, if you want to have an honest conversation about what is happening in our society, you’ve got to be willing to actually do something that’s uncomfortable for a lot of people — and that is look at actual data,” the Arizona Republican told “Newsmax Prime” host J.D. Hayworth in an interview.

“There’s data out there that say, do you know today there are half as many mass shootings as there were 30, 35 years ago?” Schweikert added. “And people have trouble believing that. “What has occurred in our society that is actually working?

“It’s interesting, because that’s disharmonious to a lot of the folks on the left that seek to control firearms as the way to make us safer,” he said.

On October 1, eight students and a teacher were killed and nine others wounded when Christopher Harper-Mercer, 26, entered an Umpqua Community College classroom and began firing. He asked students to stand up and state their religion. If they responded that they were Christians, he shot them.

Turning to the race for House speaker, Schweikert is a founding member of the conservative Freedom Caucus, which played a critical role in the move to replace House Speaker John Boehner at the end of the month. The caucus supports Florida Rep. Daniel Webster.

Other candidates seeking the post include Utah Rep. Jason Chaffetz, chairman of the House Oversight Committee, and Texas Rep. Bill Flores. Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan, chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, is under increasing pressure to seek the post. The 2012 vice presidential candidate has repeatedly said that he was not interested in being speaker.

“Let’s face it, Webster is not nearly as conservative as many of us, but he’s made it very clear he would follow the rules of the House — therefore giving everyone a fair shot,” Schweikert told Hayworth. “And this is really more about the opportunity for legislators to be able to legislate.”

He said Ryan, who has a wife and three young children, told him last week that he was against seeking the speakership. “He was pretty tough on the fact he had no interest,” the congressman said. “The moderate speaker, it’s a tough job. “You have tremendous weight on your shoulders to raise money — and for someone with children, that would be a really tough lifestyle.”

Dana Loesch on ‘Criminal Protection Areas’

TheBlaze TV host Dana Loesch sounded off over President Barack Obama’s response to the Oregon college shooting on Thursday, blasting gun-free zones as “criminal protection areas.”

Loesch spoke with Fox News’ Megyn Kelly just hours after Obama delivered a statement from the White House calling for stricter gun control measures in the wake of the mass shooting at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon, that left 10 people dead and seven more injured.

“Gun-free zones are criminal protection areas and that’s what we usually see. It’s all right there. You can’t refute numbers. You cannot refute the statistics,” Loesch said in response to the president’s remarks.

After the shooting, Obama told reporters that states with the most gun laws tend to see less gun violence, while states with fewer gun laws usually see more gun violence. The president also called for the U.S. to adopt similar gun laws as Australia and the United Kingdom — ”countries like ours.”

However, Loesch pointed out, Australia banned and even confiscated some guns after the Port Arthur shooting massacre in 1996 left 35 people dead, according to the Federalist. And in the United Kingdom, Loesch said there are still beheadings – and shootings – that take in the European country, despite its strict gun laws.

Obama in Error on Guns … again

By Alan Korwin, Author
Gun Laws of America

The president’s impassioned Oregon speech, moving as it was, missed a key point that could lead to real progress on this terrible issue of mass murder.

The 16 black Americans shot and murdered in ghettos that same day, and the day before, tragically got no news coverage.

This is stunning, unmentioned — and those lives matter.

That black-lives gunfire atrocity is repeated, daily. And will remain true tomorrow when another 16 are murdered, but get no “coverage” — 6,000 per year.

The “Graph of Death” Mr. Obama asked for is already available here:

ChicagoShootingsChicago murders by area, 2008

By focusing on an isolated “newsworthy” tragedy in one place, Mr. Obama unknowingly obscures the real issue, and does indeed politicize it — as he forthrightly admitted.

NOTE: Every action of this Oregon murderer is already 100 percent illegal — legal scholars know the call for new laws is superfluous and disingenuous. It is a political agenda that weakens support and the true effort to solve the problem.

The president made a repeated and critical mistake: new laws affecting all Americans will not affect the lone psychotics who commit these atrocities.

The medical community stands as the greatest obstacle in getting to the psychotics.

And the biggest ignored issue of all is: The existing background checks have stopped two million people from buying guns because they are known criminals or mentally unfit — and they are simply turned loose on the streets.

We have their names and addresses — and our government just sets them free, right after they try to buy guns.*

Mr. President, do something about that if you’re really serious.

Vulnerable Socialists Tell Gabby Giffords, Husband to Stay Away with Talk of Gun Control

By AWR Hawkins | Breitbart.com
June 23, 2014-06-24

Red state Democrats who are fighting to overcome their support of gun control and get re-elected are asking gun control proponents Gabby Giffords and Mark Kelly to stay out of their states.

This comes after Breibart News’ June 4 report that Giffords and Kelly planned to help Senators Mark Udall (D-CO), Mary Landrieu (D-LA), and Kay Hagan (D-NC) get re-elected this November.

Now Udall, Landrieu, and Hagan are pushing Giffords and Kelly to stay away from their races.

According to The Washington Times, the three incumbents are trying to keep gun control from erupting as a major issue in their contests, and they fear that is exactly what will happen once Giffords and Kelly join the fray.

Moreover, “political strategists” warn the red state Democrats that “the gun issue poses too much risk for Democrats already struggling in those red and purple states.”

An “activist” inside Giffords’ and Kelly’s Americans For Responsible Solutions admitted they are fully aware of the danger a gun control push can cause a candidate. However, they also claim politicizing gun issues can “[motivate] gun control supporters and [persuade] people to join the cause, especially among female voters.”

PROPOSITIONS

Tempe–475: Non-discrimination ordinance to include sexual orientation and gender identity

NO: This proposition is not in the best interests of individuals who are struggling with same-sex attraction and who are confused about their gender.  Furthermore, these non-discrimination bills, fronted by leftists seeking to destroy traditional marriage and family structure, are cited by activist judges to over-rule the First Amendment’s guarantee of free speech and the free exercise of religion.  For these reasons, VOTE NO.

Al Melvin Courageously Supports Religious Freedom in Arizona

Republican candidate for governor Al Melvin issued the following news release on the religious freedom bill which Gov. Jan Brewer needs to sign soon:

The Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA), also known as SB1062, protects  the rights of every Arizonan to work and live according to their faith.  It  prohibits punishing someone because of their faith.  It is common sense, it is good law, it was carefully crafted, it was supported by more than 90% of the Republicans in the Legislature, and I strongly urge the
governor to sign the bill. Al Melvin, speaking on SB1062.

Melvin spoke at a GOP candidate forum on Saturday and was the only candidate for governor to support SB1062.

“I was disappointed how fast my fellow Republican candidates for governor caved to the media and liberal pressure,” Melvin said. “Each of them offered excuses, but none of them were willing to stand up and publicly fight to protect the religious liberties of Arizonan citizens and businesses. said Melvin, adding They need to look past the media-driven hysteria and look at the  bill itself.  It is only two pages long and there is no excuse for them not to know better.”

Melvin went further, urging each of his opponents to reverse course and support the bill.  “We all make mistakes, but real leadership means being able to admit when you are wrong
and correcting your course.  You don’t have to spend 30 years in the Naval Reserves as I did to know how important course correction is.”

SB1062 modifies Arizona¹s existing protections and brings them into line with the federal religious freedom act.  Furthermore, SB1062 added language to ensure additional protection against the frivolous use of religious beliefs as a defense against behavior that might be considered discriminatory.

The extremists on the left are using the same hysterical language they did when they opposed SB1070.  But SB1070 turned out to be right for Arizona, the hysterics were proven to be nothing more than simple fantasy designed to whip up opposition, and the Arizona Legislature and Governor Brewer were both vindicated for  passing and signing it. My hope is that Arizonans will rally to fight for this bill by contacting the Governor and asking her to sign it.  If she does not, then I hope they will rally to my campaign so that we can elect someone
who will sign the bill in 2015.

Melvin serves as chairman of the Commerce, Energy and Military Committee and founded the highly successful Mining Caucus and Tourism Caucus. He has had along business career in international trade and transportation, is agraduate of the US Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, NY and received his MBA degree from Thunderbird-School of Global management in Glendale.  Prior to his election to the Senate, he taught college level courses as an adjunct, in economics, international business and management.

Melvin is a military veteran and graduate of the US Naval War College. He was awarded the Legion of Merit for his service as Squadron Commander of COMPSRONTWO, then the
largest ship squadron in the US Navy (14 ships) basedat the island of Diego  Garcia in the Indian Ocean. In 1999, after 30 years in the US Naval Reserve,  he retired as a Navy Captain, the equivalent of afull colonel.

He is a member of the VFW, American Legion, Military Officers of America and other military related organizations.  Sen. Melvin is a life Member of the NRA National Rifle Association).  He is a member of the Elks, Rotary and Knights of Columbus, and he remains a proud Eagle Scout (class of 1961).

Al and his wife Kou reside in SaddleBrooke in Pinal County, just north of Tucson and attend Santa Catalina Catholic Church in Catalina.
