High Time for Truth among Those on the Deceitful Left

A case of arson has shed light on the inherent dishonesty of the political Left once again. According to a report on left-stream Phoenix TV last night, a young man who formerly frequented an LGBT youth center in Phoenix tried to burn the place down. The center is run by the One in Ten organization, named after a lie that the Left has perpetuated for more than half a century.

In 1948, the pedophile Alfred Kinsey published a book claiming that 10 percent of American men are homosexual. His dubious “research” was not only slanted, but totally inaccurate, because it was based on prison inmates — not the general population. Kinsey and his team of derelicts reported on the sexuality of children which could only have been done by molesting these poor souls.

Truth comes slowly to the Left and the Left-stream media though. Today the University of Indiana is home to the Kinsey Institute, as if the man was an upstanding citizen.

Furthermore, the LGBT and its truth-challenged media friends still perpetuate the 10-percent lie. The Phoenix group, One in Ten, derives its name from this charade. A more accurate name would be One in 50 because only two percent of Americans are homosexual.

Additionally, in 1993 two homosexual activist/scientists — Simon LeVay and Dean Hamer — purported to have proven that a “gay gene” is what causes homosexuality. The Left-stream media went into hyper-drive over this claim. But the lie was soon exposed. Other researchers without an agenda proved the research hollow, and the activist/scientists had to admit they proved nothing. The New York Times hid its correction on page A19. Nevertheless, many in the Left-stream/fake news are still claiming there is truth to this falsehood.

Then again in 2005, more false media hype about the myth of a “gay gene” appeared on the internet. There is a greater likelihood of Bigfoot’s existence than this.

It’s time for these deluded people to accept the truth. Homosexuality is the result of one’s environment. And many self-avowed homosexuals were molested as children or alienated by abusive, disconnected fathers.

The current debate about transgenderism is also about truth vs. deception. If someone is so confused about whether they are male or female, the loving thing is to help them with counseling if they seek it. Which is in their own best interests. If someone has some psychological confusion about gender, it is not loving to encourage them in their confusion. Many men who had their male genitals snipped were later so distraught that they committed suicide. Others, like Walt Heyer, are now dedicated to shedding light on the truth and encouraging others not to make the same mistake they did.

Of course, for a long time we have seen anyone who disagrees with the LGBT activists to be attacked and destroyed. That’s why those lacking in courage — i.e., the Left-stream media — suck up to LGBT activists to try to stay on their good side and to perpetuate their agenda. It’s all about deceit and cowardice by these who want to bury the truth, to the detriment of suffering individuals.

Sheriff Joe will Sue Lawless President

– The Washington Times – Friday, November 21, 2014
Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio is suing President Obama over his plans to grant temporary legal status and work permits to up to 5 million illegal immigrants in the country, saying the actions from the president will have a detrimental effect on his ability to carry out his job. “Specifically, it will severely strain our resources, both in manpower and financially, necessary to protect the citizens I was elected to serve,” Sheriff Arpaio said in a statement.

Among the many negative effects of the action, he said, “will be the increased release of criminal aliens back onto streets of Maricopa County, Arizona, and the rest of the nation.” The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, alleges that both Mr. Obama’s actions outlined Thursday evening and his Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) are “unconstitutional abuses” of the president because “instead of legislation first passing both houses of Congress and then being sent to the president under the ‘Presentment Clause’ for signature and implementation or veto, the president originates legislation by himself and then dares the Congress to disagree.” The White House has consistently said Mr. Obama is acting within his constitutional authority. In a speech Thursday outlining his actions, Mr. Obama said deportations of criminals are up 80 percent over the last six years, and that the government will keep focusing resources on threats to security. “If you meet the criteria, you can come out of the shadows and get right with the law,” the president said. “If you’re a criminal, you’ll be deported. If you plan to enter the U.S. illegally, your chances of getting caught and sent back just went up.” The controversial Sheriff Arpaio is currently embroiled in a racial profiling case brought against him over allegations that a former sheriff’s deputy was shaking down illegal immigrants. U.S. District Judge Murray Snow warned Thursday that he would get a court-appointed official to examine allegations of wrongdoing by officers if the agency doesn’t adequately investigate. More than a year ago, Judge Snow ruled Sheriff Arpaio’s office had systematically racially profiled Latinos in its regular traffic and immigration patrols. Sheriff Arpaio denies that his officers have racially profiled people and has appealed the decision. The judge is requiring Sheriff Arpaio’s office to video-record traffic stops, collect data on stops and conduct additional training to ensure officers aren’t making unconstitutional stops. Arizona Officials Call Out President for Lawlessness

In Friday morning remarks to the British Broadcasting Corporation, Arizona Congressman Trent Franks, the chairman of the Constitution Subcommittee in the House of Representatives, criticized President’s Barack Hussein Obama for bypassing Congress and taking executive action on immigration.

“One of my greatest concerns here is that this president has demonstrated, not just tonight, but on many other occasions that he holds himself unconstrained by the constitution he swore to preserve and protect,” Congressman Franks said. “And if other presidents take that tack then the Constitution will essentially be vitiated and I suppose, we, as Americans will owe England an apology for that little unpleasantness back in Revolutionary War.”

Franks added that Obama has gone beyond the Constitution

“on a regular basis, on a mass scale, when it was very easy for him to have simply allowed the new Congress to come into power. We’ve already passed in the Republican House Judiciary Committee, upon which I sit, five bills related to immigration. And there is no question in my mind that there would be a Republican immigration bill.”

Asked about fears that Republicans, by insisting on upholding the law, would lose Latino votes, Franks said,

“Well, you know, in this last election, we got over 40%, which is a higher percentage than they’ve gotten in a long time. It’s kind of a false narrative; a lot of people who came to this country, my wife speaks a good part of Spanish, she’s from the Philippines, I’m married to an immigrant, she came here legally,” adding that immigrants, “who came here legally and who have relatives that are trying to come here legally resent the notion that we would simply allow those who come here illegally to get in front of them. And to have first place in being able to take their place in American society. I would like very much to do what’s necessary to fix our immigration system. It does have significant problems. But the reality is, if we are unable to control our borders then we simply, as Ronald Reagan mentioned, we cease to be a country at all. The bigger issue here is that this issue was playing out in Congress, there would have been legislation, and now I believe this President, sincerely, I believe that he has set back a real solution to this problem to this problem and divided Americans at each end, and this only demagogues the issue, which I’m afraid, genuinely, was his original intent.”

Attorney General-Elect Criticizes Obama

Today attorneys general and AG-elects in 17 states ripped Obama for his lawlessness. Among them was newly elected Arizona AG Mark Brnovich, who issued this statement:

Along with many of our fellow Americans, Republican Attorneys General listened carefully to President Obama’s remarks about his intended, unilateral actions regarding immigration. We agree with the President, “people who live in this country should play by the rules.” The American people also believe the President should play by the rules and respect the rule of law. The President cannot ignore the American people, the states or an entire branch of government.

Our country’s unique strength derives from its history of immigration. The values of immigrants are the values of our Republican Party, those of freedom, optimism, self-reliance, family and respect for the rule of law. We want our immigration laws to be enforced and our borders to be secure. We also want our country to be welcoming to those who want to join us on this American journey in the manner established by our laws.

As our states’ lead attorneys, however, we are committed to the rule of law and ensuring that we remain a nation of laws, enacted as prescribed by our Constitution. Each president takes an oath to “faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and … to the best of [his] Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.” We expect President Obama to fulfill this oath. As attorneys general we will uphold our constitutional oath to take whatever actions may be appropriate to uphold the rule of law.
Outgoing Arizona Governor Jan Brewer Assails Lawless Prez

“Not so long ago, President Obama rightly acknowledged that his role as president under the Constitution is to ‘take care that the laws be faithfully executed.’ Publically and repeatedly he has rejected the suggestion of bypassing Congress to impose a de facto amnesty via executive order.

“Now, rather than work with Congress on a bipartisan solution to fix our immigration system and secure the border, he is once again taking brazen, unilateral action that will only further exacerbate the border problem – just as he did in 2012 when he signed an executive order to provide an amnesty to almost two million illegal aliens through his ‘Deferred Action’ plan.

“This is not a partisan issue. When the bluest of blue states – like Oregon, for example – vote overwhelmingly to prohibit illegal aliens from obtaining drivers licenses, it speaks volumes about the widespread lack of support for President Obama’s immigration policies. The American people have spoken, and time and again they have been ignored.

“That President Obama refuses to visit our border, refuses to enforce our existing immigration laws and refuses to come to the table on an issue of such critical national safety and economic importance is a disgrace. We are a nation of laws, the most significant of which are written to ensure cooperation and balance among our branches of government. Separation of powers is what has distinguished us from other forms of government for 225 years. Over the past six years, this President has sought at every turn to move us toward a concentration of power which, as President Reagan opined, ‘has always been the enemy of liberty.’ With controversial executive actions like that announced today, President Obama undermines our Constitution and erodes the fundamental principles upon which America was built.

“Clearly, the president is not interested in executing our laws, and even when he and his party had control of Congress and the White House, they did absolutely nothing to reform immigration. His new executive action sends a disturbing message about the way this president perceives his role as leader. When a president constantly refuses to enforce existing laws, disregards the will of the people and creates his own policies based on personal preferences, we shift from a nation of democracy to one of tyranny. In 1838, a profound man, Abraham Lincoln, prophetically warned the American people that a tyrant could overtake our political system from within, and that, ‘when such a one does, it will require the people to be united with each other, attached to the government and laws, and generally intelligent, to successfully frustrate his designs.’

“Evidently this president must be reminded that we, the American people, elected a president that serves beneath the law – we did not anoint a tyrannical king that is above the law.”

Fred DuVal: Bad for Arizona … Great for Big Out of Control Government

The Navajo Nation Council’s Naabik’iyátí’ Committee has endorsed socialist Fred DuVal, representing the party of CONTROL for Arizona governor. This is hardly surprising, but it is sad that Native Americans continue to support the socialists who have kept them on a cycle of dependency, economic stagnation and hopelessness for decade after decade. The last thing Native Americans need is more socialist policies and more dependency on government.

Indian reservations are pockets of poverty where unemployment, social problems, and alcoholism abound. If the party of CONTROL was actually helping Native Americans we would have seen changes for the better by now. But reservation life and the problems that grip them have changed little since the 20th century.

No, Fred DuVal will not change that.

But Fred DuVal – if elected governor – will do his best impersonation of Barack Hussein Obama. That will be disastrous for men, women and children in Arizona.

It will be wonderful for Planned Parenthood and for those who benefit from Arizona’s over-spending of money it doesn’t have. We will likely see more of what happened under fellow traveler Janet Napolitano: gimmicks, smoke and mirrors and unsustainable spending and debt.

And speaking of Planned Parenthood, DuVal is already campaigning for youths to do end-runs around parental consent laws protecting under-age girls from the profit-driven abortion mills.

DuVal and Democrats talk a good education game. But public education has gone down, down, downhill because of their over-influence on K-12, public colleges and universities and the governing boards that control them.

If DuVal is elected in November, you can kiss prosperity good-bye. You will work longer into the year before you stop working for “Uncle Fred” and can begin keeping your own money to spend on your family’s needs. Fred will be fantastic for Big Government, Big out of control Government in your face.

The party of CONTROL will step all over the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Its members do whatever they think they can get away with. The socialists are taking our country and our culture down. We are not progressing as a nation, and it’s because of them.

Sadly, there are also too many Republicans who are running Left and that is to the state’s detriment.

Vote for FREEDOM.

Just heard on the radio that several school board elections have been cancelled in Arizona. That’s because there are so many uncontested elections. Which is to the detriment of Arizona and its students. There are too many leftists serving on, some entrenched on, our school boards, advocating for the same old wrong-headed policies that promote political correctness over real learning and education.

***

Also in the news lately: Jeff Scott of Phoenix Radio 1100 A.M. crowed about Arizona’s three large state universities all ranking in the top 30 of the latest LGBT university ratings. Speaking of PC over-riding real education and learning! That is sad.

Think of how students struggling with same-sex attraction and gender confusion would actually be helped if this was the newscast: Arizona ranks high nationally as a leading provider of counseling for those struggling with gender and sexuality issues.

Another Obama Lie: Taxpayers Forced to Pay for Abortion

Cathi Herrod, president of the Center for Arizona Policy, reports on what we knew was going to another of President Barack Obama’s lies — taxpayer-funded abortions …

In September 2009 as Congress was debating whether to pass the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), President Barack Obama made these promises to the American people:

“Under our plan, no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions, and federal conscience laws will remain in place.”

Less than a year later in March 2010, President Obama purported to follow his promise concerning abortion funding with Executive Order 13535, where he ordered that Obamacare would be carried out consistent with the longstanding policy of the Hyde Amendment.

The Hyde Amendment, consistently passed by Congress since the 1970s, prohibits federal taxpayer funds for abortions except in cases of rape, incest, or to save the life of the mother.

You may remember that it was these promises to ensure federal taxpayer dollars would not pay for elective abortions that secured the final votes needed to pass Obamacare.

Since its passage, we have learned that the government could not force businesses to pay for abortion causing drugs – see Burwell v. Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Wood Specialties v. Burwell. It took a U.S. Supreme Court decision to secure that basic right.

And in spite of the many assurances to the contrary, we now have definitive proof that President Obama broke his promise on taxpayer funding of abortion as well.

On Tuesday, the nonpartisan Government Accountability Office (GAO) issued a report that proves Obamacare subsidizes abortion on demand with taxpayer funds.

GAO found that 1,036 Obamacare plans include elective abortion coverage, with millions of Americans on those plans receiving taxpayer-funded subsidies. Moreover, the report goes on to reveal that most of those plans fail to itemize out an additional premium to account for the abortion coverage as required by Obamacare.

Finally, the 22-page report noted the sheer difficulty in finding out which plans do and which plans do not include coverage for elective abortion. Consumers can’t find out if a plan covers elective abortion until after purchasing the plan.

Impact on Arizona
Since the passage of Obamacare in 2010, Arizona has been at the forefront of working to protect taxpayers from subsidizing the abortion industry.

Arizona was the first state in the nation to pass a law opting the state out of abortion coverage on a state health exchange as part of Obamacare.

However, because Arizona chose to allow the federal government to run the exchange in this state, this restriction is inoperable.

The GAO report reveals that 41 out of 199 plans being offered in Arizona cover elective abortion. With over 91,000 Arizonans receiving taxpayer-funded subsidies, this is deeply troubling and an outrageous affront to all who oppose taxpayer funding of elective abortions.

At this time our team continues to work to know exactly what is happening with the Obamacare plans in Arizona. And in spite of the many transparency issues presented with Obamacare and yet another broken promise by President Obama, I assure you that we will continue working to uncover the truth and do all we can to stop our tax dollars from being used to subsidize abortions.

It’s Ducey, Brnovich, Douglas, Reagan in GOP Primary

Doug Ducey has won the Arizona Republican primary race for governor. RINO Scott Smith is in second, with Christine Jones third, Ken Bennett fourth, Andy Thomas fifth and former congressman Frank Riggs sixth.

Mark Brnovich is ending scandal-ridden RINO Tom Horne’s reign as Arizona attorney general.

Diane Douglas ousted incumbent John Huppenthal for Superintendent for Public Instruction. Douglas ran on her opposition to Common Core education, which Huppenthal supported.

RINO Michele Reagan is winning the nomination for secretary of state. She will most likely lose in November to Democrat Terry Goddard.

Jeff DeWitt is heading for victory in the three-man primary race for state treasurer, with RINO Hugh Hallmann in second and former AZ GOP chairman Randy Pullen running third.

Wendy Rogers is leading Andrew Walter by about 5,000 votes in the GOP Congressional District 9 race.

Gary Kiehe is surprisingly leading in the GOP Congressional District 1 in a close race with Adam Kwasman and Andy Tobin.

Several incumbent congressmen ran unopposed.

In the Republican race for Arizona Corporation Commissioner, Tom Forese and Doug Little have secured nominations for November’s general election.

In a huge disappointment, Arizona-bashing Bob Worsley has defeated challenger Dr. Ralph Heap in the State Senate race for District 25.

Additionally, John Giles won handily over conservative Danny Ray in the election for mayor in Mesa. Giles was backed by all the current councilmen — all of whom, incidentally, were identified as “friends” and “champions” of Big Government by Americans for Tax Prosperity.

During the summer campaign, The Arizona Conservative questioned the loyalty of many Republican candidates to GOP principles. Several of those candidates won or did well tonight, raising additional questions about Republican voters, as well. Do personalities and advertising tactics weigh more heavily with Republican voters, or do they observe GOP principle as their criteria for voting decisions? The answer is in, and the GOP platform was a big loser in here in Arizona this summer. And as we said previously, it hasn’t been tried and found wanting. For many of the candidates — particularly Smith, Hallmann, Reagan, Worsley, Horne, and others — it has not been tried. Obviously, conservatives have much to do to educate Republicans in this state, which appears to be drifting away from the conservative principles that made America great.

DEVELOPING …

Announcing the Debut of The Arizona Conservative University

Dear students and parents of Arizona,

If your students are enrolled in Arizona’s tax-funded public education system, including K-12 or public colleges and universities, they are not receiving an adequate education. They are receiving a free indoctrination – in moral relativism, so-called “progressivism,” naturalism, and more. They are immersed in slanted, biased, one-sided agendas. They are not being prepared adequately for the labor force. Nor are they being prepared to engage in their civic responsibility as informed voters.

The damage being done to America’s rich history and heritage of liberty is suffering serious damage as legions of young men and women are emerging from this educational monopoly without a balanced understanding of the disciplines that shape our culture. It’s no wonder the culture is in a sharp decline.

Your students are not getting a true, thorough, or unfiltered education. They are getting gypped. It wasn’t always this way, and it doesn’t have to continue this way. The purpose of The Arizona Conservative University is to provide an alternative and a more historically based and accurate education for all, in several key disciplines necessary to maintain a society based on ordered liberty.

Please read the coming education series, starting with Lesson One on Ethics, and please share it with your children and friends. Watch for additional lessons to follow in the weeks ahead.

Thank you.

The Arizona Conservative

Lesson One: Ethics

“Ethics deals with things to be sought and things to be avoided, with ways of life and with the telos.” Telos is the “chief good.”

Epicures, quoted by Diogenes Laertius, “Lives of Eminent Philosophers.” Sissela Bok, “Lying: Moral Choice in Public and Private Life,” p. xix.

“A man without ethics is a wild beast loosed upon the world”
Albert Camus

The underlying ethic in public schools is situational ethics, which is the natural result of moral relativism. Students are encouraged to decide on their own what is moral, what is right or wrong. No clear moral standards are taught. And what results is that students default to positions of situational ethics, in which their “moral code” is based on what personally benefits them most. It does not weigh the good of the whole. In a school of 500 students, the potential exists for 500 separate “moral guidelines” – which creates chaos and confusion. For students, the assumption is that anything goes, and immorality has no resistance. This is the sad and often tragic lesson from the legacy of education in the 21st century.

Teachers and administrators often operate without the assumption that anything goes. Many of Arizona’s (and America’s) teachers default to secular humanistic, naturalistic, and so-called “progressive” assumptions. All of which are dominant and prevailing in their classrooms. On the faculties, groupthink reigns – with precious little diversity of moral positions.

The resulting behavior of students and faculty is often downright shocking. But what would you expect when children are not taught about the value of human life, true tolerance, civility? What do you expect when tolerance is only a one-way street, and diversity of thought and beliefs are lacking?

You come to expect news about students being arrested for bringing weapons to school. You come to expect news about violence and bullying in the schools and the classrooms. You expect graduates to march into college or the labor force without a healthy respect for the Constitution or liberty.

And you see more and more community leaders and decision makers default to left-wing positions which were once unacceptable in America. You see judicial activism. Along with slanted, biased media defaulting to so-called “progressivism.”

The jury is in, and the verdict is guilty. The schools have guided a radical leftward cultural shift which is eroding personal freedom, harming the business climate, punishing achievers, degrading marriage and family – all resulting in a less civil society and a diminishing quality of life for the younger generations.

Dr. Wayne Grudeum, of Phoenix Seminary, concludes: “Once any society loses an agreed-upon set of moral values and standards and fails to transmit clear moral standards to succeeding generations, evil will continue to increase there.”

Furthermore, Dr. Grudem writes, “If children are merely left to ‘decide for themselves what is right and wrong in their own opinion,’ they will mostly end up being selfish and utilitarian in their decisions—doing whatever seems to bring them the most benefit at the moment (including widespread cheating on tests, rampant dishonesty, disrespect for authority, sexual promiscuity, drug and alcohol abuse, and other manifestations of short-sighted self-centeredness run wild.)”

Where can children learn true ethics and morality? In private schools, where religious and biblical values are taught just as public schools taught for most of America’s history. Now the courts are hostile of biblical morals. And the American Civil Liberties Union constantly bullies and threatens to unload ruinous lawsuits on public schools, which then typically default to abstaining from any moral teaching.

By rebuilding the ethics culture, we can rebuild our culture. Moms and Dads, you must get involved with this effort – with your children. The schools are defaulting on the teaching of ethics, and it’s up to you to assure your children learn genuine ethics.

Doing the Right Thing

The Colson Center is one of the most respected leaders in calling America back to an ethical foundation:

A Framework for Ethical Decision Making

SOURCE: Markkula Center for Applied Ethics, Santa Clare University
http://www.scu.edu/ethics/practicing/decision/framework.html

Recognize an Ethical Issue

  1. Could this decision or situation be damaging to someone or to some group? Does this decision involve a choice between a good and bad alternative, or perhaps between two “goods” or between two “bads”?
  2. Is this issue about more than what is legal or what is most efficient? If so, how?

Get the Facts

  1. What are the relevant facts of the case? What facts are not known? Can I learn more about the situation? Do I know enough to make a decision?
  2. What individuals and groups have an important stake in the outcome? Are some concerns more important? Why?
  3. What are the options for acting? Have all the relevant persons and groups been consulted? Have I identified creative options?

Evaluate Alternative Actions

  1. Evaluate the options by asking the following questions:
  • Which option will produce the most good and do the least harm? (The Utilitarian Approach)
  • Which option best respects the rights of all who have a stake? (The Rights Approach)
  • Which option treats people equally or proportionately? (The Justice Approach)
  • Which option best serves the community as a whole, not just some members?
    (The Common Good Approach)
  • Which option leads me to act as the sort of person I want to be? (The Virtue Approach)

Make a Decision and Test It

  1. Considering all these approaches, which option best addresses the situation?
  2. If I told someone I respect–or told a television audience–which option I have chosen, what would they say?

Act and Reflect on the Outcome

  1. How can my decision be implemented with the greatest care and attention to the concerns of all stakeholders?
  2. How did my decision turn out and what have I learned from this specific situation?

This framework for thinking ethically is the product of dialogue and debate at the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics at Santa Clara University. Primary contributors include Manuel Velasquez, Dennis Moberg, Michael J. Meyer, Thomas Shanks, Margaret R. McLean, David DeCosse, Claire André, and Kirk O. Hanson. It was last revised in May 2009.

A Natural Law Ethic and Why should it be the standard for ethics in the 21st century

Natural Law asserts that we all have common ground as individual human beings, no matter where we live, how we were reared. While several factors no doubt produce many differences among us, those differences do not erase our essential value as we each are a child made in the image of God. As image bearers of God, we also have been imbued with the ability to reason, to discern right from wrong with that reason.

In short, we each possess conscience, a gift from God. Some irreducible aspects of right and wrong result, which we all know by the the time we are adults. This common ground — as image bearers of God and possessors of conscience — give us a platform to establish a standard for ethics in our culture today and in all generations. Once this standard is accepted again, as it was before, we will be better able to discern solutions for professional and personal challenges as they come to us today–both across our country and, in time, around the world.
