Riggs Official Winner in GOP Primary Race for State Superintendent of Public Instruction

Former California Congressman Frank Riggs has narrowly and officially won the Republican nomination to run for state superintendent of public instruction in the November general election. Riggs finished with a total of 124,666 votes and edged out Bob Branch (124,307) by just 359 votes. Incumbent Diane Douglas finished a close third.
