McSally for Senate Campaign Challenges Mark Kelly to 7 Debates

Today the McSally for Senate campaign announced it would challenge Mark Kelly to seven general election debates.

“Now, more than ever before, it is important that Arizonans hear directly from the candidates running to represent them in the Senate,” said Senator Martha McSally. “Unfortunately, my opponent has largely refused to take hard questions and tell voters where he stands on the important issues that affect them. While he uses his Chuck Schumer-funded campaign account to run ads claiming to be an independent voice, Mark Kelly would be another trojan horse for the most radical Left policies that have now become mainstream in the Democrat Party. Arizonans deserve answers, and so I am challenging Mark Kelly to show up and accept each of these debates.”DEBATE CHALLENGE:

• The proposed debate plan includes 3 debates hosted in Phoenix and Tucson by The Arizona Republic, Arizona PBS and The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University, KJZZ, and Arizona Public Media.
• Another three Arizona debates would focus on and be hosted in the state’s rural communities: Yavapai, Yuma, and the Navajo Nation.
• Because Arizona’s Senate race is expected to decide control of the Senate, we propose a national debate hosted by a national network and media outlet.
• Due to Arizona’s early voting calendar, the first debate should occur no later than the second week of September.
