Draining the Swamp in Peoria
Jason Beck and Jennifer Crawford are the conservatives that were elected to the Peoria City Council in 2022. Peoria is a conservative city and voters and grassroots conservatives were tired of the City led by Cathy Carlot, Bridgette Binsbacher and their city cronies. Peoria developed a reputation for insider deals and incompetence from their city attorney Vanessa Hickman. Under Carlot and Hickman, Peoria was found in violation of the Arizona Constitution's gift clause. The Peoria Mayor and her bureaucrats were known for making terrible deals with developers that were struck down or simply a waste of taxpayer money. When Beck and Crawford ran, they took aim at city hall for not funding the police. Peoria had an embarrassing record of police response times because of the woke leadership at city hall that put baseball stadiums and parks before public safety. In one case, a woman waited 27 minutes under the leadership of the old regime. Newly elected conservatives Jason Beck and Jennifer Crawford had the backing of the grassroots conservatives to make big changes. In their first year in office, they have been keeping their promises. Funding police, putting public safety first, firing the old city manager, and trying to recover taxpayer money.
In recent news, the new city leadership in Peoria found a sweetheart deal the outgoing Mayor gave to her outgoing city attorney. The new council led by Beck and Crawford have brought in government reformers to run the city.
The new city manager has shined a bright light on the practices within the city, and continues to drain the swamp. Some employees have chosen to move to other government agencies, joining the democrats where they belong.
